Children who have been diagnosed with diabetes and their families are faced with making significant changes in their lives and learning about the disease very quickly. The Lincoln Chapter participates in a nationwide JDRF program that offers help at this time – a time that can be physically, emotionally, and financially devastating.
The JDRF Bag of Hope, underwritten by Roche Pharmaceuticals, is available to children newly diagnosed with type I diabetes. The BOH contains books and a video for children that help them to realize they are not alone and there are many resources available. A glucose meter, Rufus the teddy bearwho also hasdiabetes, offers his support and a wealth of information about JDRF is available to family members.
Fill out the information below and we will provide you with a Bag within 24 hours by mail, or hand delivered.
We will also assign a “mentor family” to you, parents and children who know what you are going through. Your mentor family will have a child close to your child’s age so they can make a new friend who also has type I diabetes.
